A Blind Taste (9/9/24)

A Blind Taste is a unique, intimate dining event that we consider to  be the city’s most incomparable non-profit fundraiser.

The event is held at La Petite Grocery on Magazine St. in New  Orleans, and features a five-course dinner with wine pairings created  by James Beard Award-winning Chef Justin Devillier. During  dinner, guests wear blindfolds, removing one sense but also  heightening others and one’s ability to discover the unique flavors of  the event. Our goal is that by dining blindfolded, our guests will gain  awareness of some of the challenges that our listeners experience on  a daily basis. Proceeds from A Blind Taste support operations and  programming on WRBH.

WRBH is a 501(c)3 non-profit reading radio service that, for over 40 years now, has been broadcasting readings of newspapers, books,  and magazines so that the blind and print impaired receive the same  ease of access to current information as their sighted peers. As a  constant source of literature and information to many who live in  New Orleans, WRBH is a unique and invaluable asset to the entire  community. We are the only reading radio service to operate on the  FM dial in the United States and all of our on-air voices are  volunteers.

If you would like to learn more about donating, the event itself, or  have other questions about WRBH, please call us at (504) 899-1144.
